Protect Your Treasures

Written By: Nairobi

Be careful of the ones who come to steal, kill, and destroy. They don’t always show up as enemies. Sometimes they come dressed as a friend. Sometimes it’s family—a sister, a cousin, or even somebody you once trusted with your deepest secrets.

And that’s what cuts the deepest. To look in the eyes of someone you poured your heart out to—someone who knew your fears, your pain, your dreams—and realize they weren’t protecting you, they were collecting you. Collecting your weaknesses. Collecting your vulnerabilities. Collecting your light. Only to twist it, use it, or try to steal pieces of what makes you you. That betrayal hits different. It hits hard.

That’s why you’ve got to safeguard your talent. Guard your gift. Protect your vision at all costs. Because not everyone clapping for you is happy for you. Not every smile is real. Some people want to take what you bled for. Some will try to copy what they could never create. Some will sabotage what they can’t control.

Envy and jealousy wear many faces. They creep in quiet, but they leave loud. Some don’t want to see you grow because your growth exposes their stagnation. Some can’t stand your shine because your light exposes the darkness in them.

But let me tell you something: your light isn’t the problem. Their dissatisfaction is. They’re not at peace with themselves, so they want to rob you of your peace.

This is why you have to stay rooted. Protect your peace. Stand firm in who you are. Because what God put in you can’t be stolen, can’t be duplicated, can’t be destroyed. They might try, but what’s divinely yours will always remain yours.

So don’t shrink yourself for their comfort. Don’t apologize for their insecurities. Don’t dim what God designed to shine. If your light’s too bright for them, they can grab some shades.

Your light was never meant to be hidden. It was meant to illuminate. To inspire. To lead.

Be wise. Be watchful. Be discerning. Protect what’s yours—because your gift, your light, your purpose… it’s sacred.
