I’m a farmer, a hemp farmer.” “I love nothing more than making things grow.” “I have a personal relationship with dirt.” I love putting my hands in the soul of the earth. Farming has always been my passion, cultivating the land has always been my aspiration. Because of that my partner and I decided to build 414 HEMP.

We have several hemp stores; we also have a café. We cook what we grow. We grow a variety of things like collard greens, pickles, kale, cucumbers, and watermelons. You name it we grow it. Everything that we grow is 100% organic. We offer a soulful but healthier choice of foods. We manufacture the hemp that we grow. We offer hemp oil, flowers, CBD soda. Our cherry soda is a pure Wisconsin brand from Door County.
Just like most small and major companies covid-19 has affected our overall growth, but thanks to all our supporters we have been able to maintain. We offer curbside pickup and delivery as well.
Our most important goal is to provide jobs. Coming from where I came from and being in prison opened my mind to how important it is to offer employment.
While I was in prison, I allowed myself to heal, to educate myself and focus on a higher mind set.
I had to elevate beyond the people and things that I associated with before I went to prison. I fought to make sure I didn’t adapt to the mindset that once led me down the wrong path. That label and stigma of being a felon is one of the things that drove me to become an entrepreneur.
Every Saturday my partner Mike McGee Jr. and I participate in a food giveaway on 55th and silver spring. We also sell fruits and vegetables for as low as two cents at our Hemp World Café.
We recently started a Commander and Cadet program where we teach gun safety and martial arts. Furthermore, we provide a discount program for all veterans.
One of my most successful memories is when I went to work for The Guest House, which is a shelter for men. I was hired to work in their Agriculture department to teach the men how to farm. They gave me one acre of land and with that one acre I produced 65 thousand pounds of food in one year!
I knew then that farming is what I was created to do.
My dream is to own 80 acres of land, have my own livestock, and build my own community.
We pride ourselves on quality. Our entire mission is to get our people back healthy, get back to our roots, and back to the foods that our ancestors ingested to help our bodies perform the way they are designed to perform.
2GAIN&GIVE would like to thank you (414 HEMP/ Hemp World Café) for allowing us to get a closer look at your business and for giving us a better understanding of exactly what it is that you do and the services you provide. We wish you well in all your endeavors.
Part of our mission is to give. I hope that our newsletter will shine light on small businesses and help promote them so that they can continue to grow.
